WRITE YOUR OWN MUSIC WITH DAVID GRAHAM : YOUTH-WORKSHOP OF COMPOSITION FOR AGE 10-18

Did you always want to think up your own piece of music? And hear it played perfectly? In front of an audience? Here’s your chance!

In a 10-day workshop you can work with other young people and with the composer David Graham to discover your own music and find ways of getting it onto paper. You will be able to try out and rehearse the piece with a group of professional musicians who will give the first performance in a concert during the Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte in Montepuciano.

During the course we will also listen to new classical music, try out different forms of notation and experiment with new sounds and techniques for normal instruments. In the final concert some pieces will be performed which recent research has uncovered: music by composers from past ages of Montepulciano. So it’s new and old together!

You need: only the desire to express yourself with music. And a pencil.

Course dates: 20th-30th of July 2016

Place: Istituto di Musica Henze, Montepulciano
Date/Time of final concert: 30th of July, 6.00h p.m.
Frequency: daily, 10-13h a.m.
Languages: I, UK, D
Cost: FREE ADMISSION
